Roxy, a police officer, has just said a moving eulogy at her Mother’s funeral, when her veteran father Joe shows up, drunk at the Funeral. Elsewhere Chuy, a DACA recipient, poet and protector of his E. Colfax neighborhood, right after welcoming a new resident, gets a phone call about his best friend being shot by a gang. Fayyaz, an Afghan refugee, still has nightmares from the horrors he endured before coming to America, while Fatima, his daughter is a police officer, something she could dream of becoming in her own country.
From war in faraway lands to the wars of vengeance at home, amidst the progressively intensifying ICE raids, divisive politics, poverty, addiction, romance, and triumph, I.C.E.
