About the event
Since we started NAAF in 2020 during the pandemic, we’ve had great success engaging the community and bringing together a broad range of cultural groups. It is a brilliant testimony that shows when given the right support, under-repressented communities will find their voices and tell their stories through original and diverse artworks inspired by real-life experiences.
Entering our third year, the ‘need’ for the festival has evolved through community inputs and conversations. This year’s theme ‘In War and in Peace’ will go deeper into understanding ‘displacement’ and the ‘fears’ that feed our ‘ignorance’ and vice-versa. Ultimately the goal is to explore how we overcome differences to unify and combat perceived challenges that threat to our very own existence.
